Konwersatorium - Colonialism in the Marketplace 2600-BM-KON-CIM
This module examines historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism in modern business practices. Through case studies from marginalized communities, predominantly from countries in the Global South, we'll delve into contemporary issues such as cultural appropriation, racial and gender discrimination, woke-washing, digital colonialism, and green colonialism. By unpacking how these dynamics shape markets and consumer culture, the module challenges students to critically reflect on the ethical responsibilities of businesses and consumers in a globalized economy. Ultimately, it asks what more just and equitable forms of exchange might look like in the future.
