During the course students will learn key concepts associated with management of intellectual property rights in enterprises, in particular:
1. Basic concepts of intellectual property law
2. Concept of creator and work protected by copyright
The subject of the class will focus on protection of intellectual property, in particular copyright (subject matter and definition, rights and obligations of the creator).
3. Fair use
Selected cases of using the work without consent of author or other holder of economic rights will be presented during the class.
4. Plagiarism
The class will be devoted to the issue of plagiarism. Practical examples will be used to illustrate what activities qualify as plagiarism and what are the legal consequences of such conduct.
