Master's Seminar 2600-ABz1SM
The main goal of the seminar is to familiarize students with the principles of scientific work, which allow you to prepare the master's thesis at a high substantive level. The issue of the seminar is focused on individual interests of students in the area of discipline of management and quality sciences, with concentration on issues that devote the seminary to discipline and field of study. As part of the seminar, the goals of the diploma thesis and the tasks of the diploma seminar will be discussed. The rules for building scientific work will also be discussed, participants will conduct a review of literature, design and implement research procedures, and interpret and discuss their own research results
An important aspect of the seminar will be the ongoing verification of the substantive content of written thesis and its improvement on the basis of the supervisor’s comments.

Upon completion of the course, the student:
in terms of knowledge:
• Uses advanced terminology in the field of management and quality sciences, in particular those specific to the field of study (K_W01),
• Compares and discusses research methodologies, indicating their strengths and weaknesses from the perspective of the adopted research goal (K_W01),
• Explains the principles, complex procedures and practices regarding the organization's activities and its key functions (K_W02),
• Explains to an advanced degree theories and models related to organization management (K_W03),
• Explains complex processes and phenomena in the organization's environment and indicates their consequences (K_W05),
in terms of skills:
• Uses the theory of the discipline of management and quality science and complementary sciences to recognize complex problems related to the seminar topic (K¬_U01),
• Interprets complex processes and market phenomena and their impact on the functioning of the organization (K_U02)
• Adapts existing research methods to recognize and diagnose issues related to the seminar topic (K¬_U03),
• Selects sources appropriate to the topic of work (K¬_U03),
• Formulates the main aim of the work and the research problem (K_U04),
• Formulates research goals/questions and/or research hypotheses and designs the process of their implementation/answer and testing (K¬_U04),
• Prepares independently to an advanced degree an analysis and diagnosis of the issue in the context in which the topic of the work is embedded (K¬_U06),
• Conducts an in-depth analysis and discussion of the results of own research K_U06),
• Prepares a report on research or analytical findings using advanced information and communication tools (K_U06),
• Formulates recommendations for practitioners based on conducted research and analyzes (K_U06)
• Recommends directions for further research and analysis (K_U06)
• Uses scientific sources in a foreign language when developing issues related to the topic of the work (K_U07),
• Identifies independently his needs in terms of supplementing and developing his knowledge and skills when preparing his diploma thesis (K_U09),

• Assesses the strengths and weaknesses of various theoretical concepts (K_K01),
• Assesses the advantages and disadvantages of research methods (K_K01),
• Confronts research results with various theoretical concepts and expert opinions (K_K02),
• Formulates practical recommendations related to the research problem (K_K04)
• Maintains ethical standards during empirical research (K_K05)
• Indicates the limitations of the designed research process for conclusions (K_K05)
Assessment criteria
Learning outcomes in the field of knowledge will be verified on the basis of the substantive quality of individual parts of the work and discussion during the seminar
Outcomes in terms of skill will be verified on a regular basis in relation to individual stages of work preparation
Outcomes in terms of social competences will be verified during the discussion at the seminary and based on the content of the thesis.
In the winter semester:
Acceptance of the thesis topic by the director of studies
Enter the specific requirements of the supervisor, e.g. acceptance of the structure of the work, one chapter written, etc
In the summer semester
Submitting a bachelor's thesis accepted by the supervisor and approved by hom/her in the APD system.
