Term 2024L:
Contemporary research describes narcissism as a dynamic personality trait associated with experiencing various states. People can experience temporary states of narcissism to a greater or lesser extent. The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about different models of narcissism as a trait and as a state. Additionally, we will discuss factors that may reduce narcissistic states, such as quieting the ego or adopting a communal attitude. The course will be conducted in the form of practical exercises. Each session includes a theoretical introduction to the topic, presentation of contemporary literature and research findings, and a practical component with exercises related to the specific theme (e.g., techniques for increasing gratitude, acceptance as a strategy for emotion regulation, etc.). The exercises will draw from methods such as improvisational theater, referring to psychological theories. |
