The classes are an element of improving trainer skills. Their aim is to review difficult situations that may arise during work with a group using the workshop method (psychosocial skills workshop) and to learn the principles and strategies for coping with these situations.

The main part of the course consists of:
- simulations of selected difficult situations that may occur during the workshop. Each participant is tasked with conducting a fragment of classes in a given group and applying the developed strategies for coping with a selected difficult situation;
- feedback on the effectiveness of the strategies used.

Prerequisites (description)

The course is for specialization students only. Note! Simulations are played out by course participants based on prepared descriptions of situations that actually appear in the workshop. They can arouse/arouse strong emotions and discomfort in course participants. After each simulation, feedback is provided on how the given persons acting as trainers coped/did not cope with the given situation (what they did well, what requires improvement). I encourage you to reconsider your participation if you are not ready for this type of experiential learning, receiving feedback, and do not have the consent to deal with your emotions that may arise while participating in the class.

Learning outcomes

Students should:
- know the basic principles of intervention in difficult training situations;
- know the categories of difficult situations occurring in working with groups by active methods;
- be able to prevent difficult situations;
- develop personal coping skills in group work.
