Difficult situation in coaching 2500-PL-PS-SP309-04
The classes are an element of improving trainer skills. Their aim is to review difficult situations that may arise during work with a group using the workshop method (psychosocial skills workshop) and to learn the principles and strategies for coping with these situations.
The main part of the course consists of:
- simulations of selected difficult situations that may occur during the workshop. Each participant is tasked with conducting a fragment of classes in a given group and applying the developed strategies for coping with a selected difficult situation;
- feedback on the effectiveness of the strategies used.

Learning outcomes
Students should:
- know the basic principles of intervention in difficult training situations;
- know the categories of difficult situations occurring in working with groups by active methods;
- be able to prevent difficult situations;
- develop personal coping skills in group work.
Assessment criteria
1. Attendance at classes (100%).
Due to the nature of the classes, the basic condition for passing is attendance at the entire class (3 days) and punctuality. It is not possible to pass the course based on partial attendance (also related to lateness).
Note! Arriving after the attendance list has been checked will be treated as lateness.
2. Preparing and conducting a workshop fragment for a group playing a difficult situation as a trainer.
People who are only observers, i.e. do not conduct a workshop fragment for a group playing a difficult situation drawn, will not pass the classes.
3. Activity during classes (simulations and feedback).
The grade obtained from the classes will reflect the level of the student's involvement in participating in simulations of difficult situations and providing feedback to people acting as trainers.
Note! Points 1 and 2 are non-negotiable conditions for passing. Without meeting them, the student does not pass the classes (receives an insufficient grade). Point 3 determines the final grade obtained. The final grade does NOT depend on how the student (in the role of trainer) copes with the difficult situation drawn.
