World of people with disability and chronic disease - workshop 2500-PL-PS-SP306-01

Participants will have an opportunity to experience everyday difficulties of disabled/chronically ill people. Workshops idea is to rely on participant's personal commitment and reflection. Every meeting will concern the problems of a particular group of handicapped/chronically ill people (i.e. with difficulties in stimuli perception, communication, motor and pervasive developmental disorders).

Aims of the workshop:
- Familiarization with the consequences of constraints that result from different kinds of disabilities/chronic illnesses and difficulties that the disabled/ill experience in their everyday life
- Development of sensitivity to specific difficulties the disabled/ill face
- Acknowledgement of the principles to be observed while working with clients

Due to the specific workshop form - presence at every meeting is obligatory

The following issues will be presented during workshop(s)
• The world of the blind (m.sc. Sylwia Tołczyk)
• Physical impairment (m.sc. Weronika Kurek)
• The world of mentally ill: schizophrenia (m.sc. Magdalena Strząska)
• The world of mentally ill: bipolar disorder (m.sc. Magdalena Strząska)
