Participants will have an opportunity to experience everyday difficulties of disabled/chronically ill people. Workshops idea is to rely on participant's personal commitment and reflection. Every meeting will concern the problems of a particular group of handicapped/chronically ill people (i.e. with difficulties in stimuli perception, communication, motor and pervasive developmental disorders). After completion of the course a student will be able to:
- list different kinds of disabilities/mental illnesses
- define difficulties the disabled/chronically ill face in their everyday life
- explain the role of a psychologist in the process of rehabilitation of the disabled/chronically ill
- anticipate difficulties that the disabled/mentally ill may face
- assess how a psychologist can support the disabled/chronically ill in overcoming obstacles
