This course focuses on the assessment and support of students in early elementary education who experience learning and school-related difficulties. It examines the causes and mechanisms of school failure as well as the legal and institutional framework of psychological and educational support, with reference to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and ICF-CY. The course addresses developmental and emotional-behavioral disorders, specific learning disabilities, and school readiness. It also introduces basic assessment procedures and tools, along with educational and psychological intervention methods designed to support students in the early elementary grades. |
