Term 2025Z:

Psychological problems connected with family law and Convention on the Rights of the Child (divorces, judicial intervention in parental custody, adoption, foster families, violence against children).

Term 2026Z:

During the classes, students learn the basic principles of conducting research and formulating psychological expertise in family matters – divorce and child custody cases. Participants become familiar with psychological research methods used in forensic psychological opinions in family and custody cases.
The literature is discussed with an emphasis on psychological issues related to the application of the Family and Guardianship Code and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (divorce, court interference in parental authority, evaluations in custody and visitation cases, adoption, foster families, child abuse).
Students prepare papers in which they present the results of the diagnostic research they conducted (psychological interview with a child and their parent / family assessment) and develop the results of the presented research methods along with hypotheses for further verification.

2. To evaluate family structure, emotional bonds, parental competence and child abuse
3. To think critically about ethical problems of diagnosis in family law
