Prerequisites (description)
Learning outcomes
Once the course is completed, students will be able to:
Identify and define the various types of qualitative methods and analysis, their similarities and differences.
Operationalize key topics of qualitative research under empirical investigation.
Identify differences between theory-driven and data-driven qualitative research and practice both ways of analyzing qualitative material.
Identify and define mixed methods and advantages / disadvantages of integrative methodological framework.
Define triangulation and practice triangulation approach in mixed-methods research.
Use principles of qualitative research to design interviews and focus groups.
Analyze qualitative data using thematic analysis.
Analyze qualitative data using quantification methods.
Report results in APA format and present qualitative and mixed-methods findings in academic journal format.
Use open science framework as repository of qualitative and mixed-methods data.
Summarize and criticize qualitative and mixed-methods analyses and comparing them with other social research methods.
