Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
The student has knowledge about the methods of definition, theoretical concepts and models of health, illness and disability.
The student has knowledge about the impact of psychosocial factors (including stress) on human health. Is able to indicate mechanisms conditioning adaptation to illness or disability. (K_W04, K_W08, K_W09, K_W10, K_W11)
The student has knowledge about psychological, social and cultural factors conditioning human functioning in a situation of illness or disability. (K_W08, K_W09, K_W10, K_W11)
The student knows the areas of application of psychology in medicine, health promotion and broadly understood rehabilitation, as well as contemporary directions of scientific research in this field. (K_W01)
The student knows the directions and methods of scientific research conducted in the field of health psychology and rehabilitation. (K_W12)
Skills:
The student has the ability to analyze and plan scientific research according to modern standards in the field of health psychology and rehabilitation, as well as in accordance with the principles of ethics. (K_U03, K_U04, K_U05, K_U07)
The student understands the relationship between having psychological knowledge, and the effectiveness of the process of communication and cooperation with an ill patient or a person with a disability. (K_U01)
Competences:
The student recognizes the need for an individual approach in diagnosing the situation of ill and disabled people.
The student is able to plan activities that promote a healthy lifestyle, shape a positive and complex image of people with disabilities, and to plan a scientific evaluation of the effects of activities undertaken in this area. (K_K03)
The student is aware of the need to apply ethical and methodological standards at scientific research and popularizing of scientific knowledge.
