Psychosexual development and sexual dysfunction – diagnosis, therapy, prevention 2500-PL-PS-FS5-06

The goal of the seminar is to familiarize students with knowledge about the cause-and-effect relation between psychosexual development (from birth to early adulthood) and psychogenic sexual disorders of children, adolescents and adults.
The seminar is supported by an evidence based approach to sexuality as an area present in human life from birth to death and evolving throughout life.
Students during the classes will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and develop skills necessary for the diagnosis of sexual dysfunction (including learning about sexological diagnostics characteristic of different therapeutic approaches), conducting psychological examination typical of sexological diagnosis, designing therapeutic and prophylactic interactions for sexual disorders of developmental etiology, including: educational workshops for children, adolescents and adults, and training of parental skills.
One of the practical elements implemented during the seminar will be to work with one’s own sexuality in order to develop the necessary therapeutic skills.
Sexual dysfunction developmental etiology will be presented on the basis of evidence based practice and sexual dysfunction presented in accordance with international classifications ICD-10 and DSM-V.
