Learning outcomes
1) Acquired knowledge:
a) The student knows the basic concepts of psycho-sexology related to various dimensions of adult sexuality;
b) The student knows the minority stress model
c) The student knows the specific and most discussed problems of LGBT clients
2) Acquired skills:
a) The student is able to critically evaluate information or knowledge inconsistent with the latest scientific/ethical standards regarding psychosexual orientation
b) The student is able to apply the minority stress model in terms of the social situation of LGBT people
c) The student is able to connect the minority stress model with specific problems or situations in the personal life of LGBT people
d) The student is able to professionally and empatically conduct an initial psychological interview with an LGBT client
e) The student is able to propose a preliminary conceptualization of the problem reported by the LGBT client
3) Acquired competences:
a) The student is aware that the social situation of LGBT people affects their well-being and mental health
b) The student understands the need to take into account specific factors in therapy (e.g. language used in therapy) and their consequences for the therapeutic process
c) The student is aware of the need to apply high ethical standards
d) The student understands the need to work on his / her own personal attitudes and beliefs
