The course is an introduction to the issues of modern psychology of religion and spirituality. The course will cover selected topics regarding measurement, psychological foundation, and correlates of religiosity and spirituality. The course is planned as a seminar and may include elements of lecture, literature discussions, and small-group work. All classes will start with a short open-ended entry test regarding the compulsory literature. The class will conclude with a final written exam (both multiple-choice and open-ended questions). |

Learning outcomes
The student who completes the course has in-depth knowledge regarding individual differences in religiosity and spirituality (K_W11). The student possesses knowledge of classical and modern measurement methods used in the psychology of religion (K_W12). The student is aware of and understands the mechanisms related to the social dimension of religiosity (K_W10). The student has knowledge concerning the affective and cognitive correlates of religiosity and spirituality (K_W08, K_W09).
The student can critically analyze and evaluate the results of the psychological research on religiosity and spirituality and is able to review their popular scientific discussions (K_U04, K_U05).
The student is aware of the diversity and values recognized by people, especially in the context of faith and religion, and is able to respect this diversity. The student respectfully approaches other people, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, level of education, social group, religion, and culture (K_K01). The student is able to cooperate in a team (K_K05). The student is able to initiate and lead a discussion. The student can participate in a debate constructively, listening to the opinions of other people using respect and comments (K_K06).
