The notion of creativity and its meaning; the specific understanding of creativity in the empirical research, the problem of creativity criteria. Biological bases of creativity: mere correlates or something deeper and causal? Creativity as an individual trait or the traits constellation. The notion of giftedness as sui generis superposition of intellect, personality, perception, and executive abilities. The diagnostics of creativity refers mostly to the creative potential in the spheres of personality and mentality. More about intelligence and personality which are two creativity's pillars. The affective disorders and creativity. Development of creativity. Creativity and the environment: towards the social psychology of creativity. |

Learning outcomes
Knowledge. Student:
– set creativity in the context of a product, the individual traits, the mental process, and the environment;
– knows different creativity criteria;
– knows the reasons for treating creativity as general issue as well as the reasons for treating creativity as specific issue;
– is acquainted with the particular problems of the psychology of creativity (e.g. knows the creativity-intelligence debate, including threshold hypothesis, understands the complexity of emotions-creativity relationship etc.).
Attitudes. Student:
– keeps being sceptical toward schematic, standardized, enumerations (instead of the syntheses).
