The course deepens the knowledge gained in the mandatory introductory classes on qualitative methods used in psychological research. The course will focus on skills necessary at every stage of the research process in a qualitative approach, with an emphasis on conducting research and data analysis. It will enhance understanding of researcher reflexivity and critical thinking within the qualitative framework, the researcher’s role in the research process, ethics of qualitative research, planning and conducting research interviews, qualitative data analysis, and preparing scholarly texts using qualitative methods. Advanced qualitative research methods will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to critically engage in the research process. |

A person who completed the course:
- knows the methodological approaches used in qualitative research and can evaluate their effectiveness in solving a given research problem
- can describe epistemological attitudes and how they affect qualitative research design
- understands the challenges and complexities associated with qualitative research and recognizes their implications for conducting qualitative research
- understands how theory influences qualitative data analysis
- is able to recognize the impact of the researcher's and reflexivity on the research process
- knows and understands the ethical challenges of conducting qualitative research in the field of psychology and strategies for addressing them
- is able to work in a group to prepare and implement a qualitative study
- can prepare a scientific text describing the results of a qualitative study
