Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a useful tool in various fields, including psychology. As AI continues to evolve, understanding its future directions, challenges, and opportunities becomes crucial. The aim of this course is to provide psychology students with a comprehensive overview of AI applications and to equip them with the knowledge necessary to use these technologies responsibly and innovatively. AI offers opportunities to better understand human behavior, improve psychological research, and improve therapeutic practices. At the same time, it brings many new threats for science, healthcare, education etc. The course is designed for psychology students and its aim is to explain the basics of AI and its applications in research and practice. No advanced mathematical knowledge is required, making this course accessible to people with basic knowledge of psychology and an interest in AI. However, for some topics, basic programming skills in Python and knowledge of basic statistics and methodology are recommended. |

Learning outcomes
The student:
Knows the theoretical foundations of AI (K_W03).
Understands what sources data can be obtained from, how they can be used or generated using AI tools (K_W03).
Knows possible applications of data processing and analysis methods using SI tools (K_W03).
Is able to use AI tools to collect and prepare data on various psychological phenomena for analysis (K_U04).
Is able to prepare the environment for working with AI tools (K_U04).
Is able to use AI tools in a responsible manner and in accordance with the principles of professional ethics (K_U07).
Understands that the ability to use AI tools gives universal competences related to their application in psychology and other fields of knowledge and practice (K_K02).
Is ready to develop lifelong learning skills by systematically updating their knowledge about new technologies useful in the work of a psychologist (K_K04).
