Term 2023Z:
The central aim of the course is to provide students with general knowledge on memory and learning processes, basic approaches, theories and research paradigms. First part of the lecture contains historical overview and introduction to classic theories and paradigms, followed by new directions in neuroscience studies. Further, it will review classical memory models and learning paradigms. These will be followed by a presentation of connections between learning and memory and other psychological processes such as emotions and motivation processes. Finally the course will discuss dysfunctions and effect on memory and learning in real life, providing information about meta-memory and learning strategies. |

a. Classic theories of learning and memory. Is able to define memory and learning
b. Basic paradigms and classical research within this area.
c. Basic memory models and is able to distinguish memory systems.
d. Biological components of memory and learning process.
e. Connection between memory and learning and emotional processes.
f. Conceptions of implicit learning and memory.
g. Memory and learning disorders.
h. Strategies that can help to improve memory.
2) Competences:
a. Is able to use a proper theory when attempting to explain particular psychological problems.
b. Is able to apply the knowledge about meta-memory to real life
