Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
• Examine how theoretical frameworks and empirical approaches of social and political psychology discussed in lectures are connected to understanding of crises and conflicts, their antecedents and consequences.
• Critically analyze contemporary crises or conflicts using relevant theoretical and empirical perspectives and identify appropriate academic sources and data for further investigation.
• Recognize key debates and contributions at the intersection of social and political psychology, media psychology, international relations, and conflict studies, and critically assess the associated scholarship.
• Utilize appropriate social and political psychology theories and research methods in their own work, culminating in a research proposal that tests clearly defined hypotheses related to the social and political psychological approach to a specific crisis or conflict.
