Learning outcomes
1. Understanding Sexual Anatomy and Physiology: Develop a
comprehensive understanding of human sexual anatomy, physiology,
and the biological aspects of sexual response to lay the foundation for
addressing sexual concerns.
2. Assessment Techniques: Learn various assessment tools and
methodologies used to comprehensively evaluate sexual issues. This
includes an understanding of the role of psychosocial, relational, and
cultural factors in sexual health.
3. Diagnostic Skills: Gain skill in diagnosing a wide range of sexual
dysfunctions, disorders, and concerns, considering both individual
and relational dynamics.
4. Theoretical Frameworks: Explore and comprehend various theoretical
approaches to sex therapy (Psychodynamic, Cognitive-behavioral,
Integrative, etc.) and how each informs treatment strategies.
5. Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop skills for employing
evidence-based techniques, behavioral interventions, and
psychotherapeutic modalities in designing treatment plans and
interventions tailored to diverse sexual concerns.
6. Cultural Competence and Diversity: Understand the impact of
cultural, religious, and societal factors on sexual beliefs, behaviors,
and identities. Cultivate cultural competence to provide inclusive and
sensitive care to diverse populations.
7. Ethical and Legal Considerations: Gain knowledge of ethical principles
and legal considerations specific to addressing intimate and sensitive
topics within sex therapy, including confidentiality, boundaries, and

communicating around sensitive topics, creating a safe therapeutic
