Learning outcomes
Students will be able to
1. Describe the various ways that neuropsychology informs the courts during both criminal and civil legal proceedings.
2. Identify the specific legal questions that could be informed by psychological and neuropsychological data.
3. Distinguish between the legal concepts of competency and sanity.
4. Explain the concept of malingering and the science of lie detection.
5. Summarize the evidence linking neurobiology to crime.
6. Examine the ethical dilemmas inherent in forensic work.
7. Review effective techniques for forensic report writing and testimony.
