Diploma seminar I 2500-EN-CS-OB-01
“Diploma Seminar” is an obligatory course stretching from the first to the last semester.
In the first semester (DS1) students attend presentations given by Research labs affiliated with the Cognitive Science program. The labs introduce their research activities and opportunities for students. By the end of the semester students are expected to choose the Research lab they want to join.
In the second and fourth semester (DS2 & DS4) seminar meetings are held together for both year 1 and year 2 students. In the first part of the semester second year students present their masters projects, which are then discussed in class. In the second part of the semester first year students present their own research plans and by the end of the semester they are required to submit their topics and supervisors for approval to the didactic council.
In the third semester (DS3) students attend various training sessions on academic and/or job-related skills.
Students work on their Master’s theses with their supervisors in the third and fourth semester (DS3 & DS4). By the end of the third semester they are expected to submit (any) one chapter of their thesis approved by their supervisor. By the end of the fourth semester and to finish the whole course students have to submit their masters theses.
