During the seminar we will discuss the phenomena on the financial markets (currency, stocks, bonds, futures, commodities markets), with particular attention on capital markets. Theoretical and practical aspects related to the functioning of contemporary markets, instruments and financial institutions will be presented. Students will also learn about the research methods used in the literature and the most important empirical research done in the field of finance.
Master's thesis topics will cover issues related to:
the functioning of global stock exchanges, OTC markets (derivative instruments),
investor behavior in financial markets (behavioral finance),
banks, investment funds, consolidation (creation of financial conglomerates),
transformation of the international market financial services,
the impact of the liberalization of capital flows on economies,
the integration of banking and capital systems related to the introduction of the single currency Euro,
currency, banking and financial crises,
the efficiency of financial systems (based on the capital market, banking-oriented, mixed),
operations of international financial institutions,
online financial services and
the problem of financial development and economic growth.
