TEAM MANAGEMENT 2400-ZEWW841-OG
As part of our interactive work, we will seek answers to the following questions:
- What makes a team different from a group of people?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of teamwork (including teamwork dysfunctions)?
- What are the key principles of team building?
- How to manage time, tasks and competences in a team?
- How to select people for the team?
- What competences should a team leader have?
- What are the principles of effective leadership in a team?
- What motivates team members to work and cooperate?
Key issues of the curriculum:
1. Advantages, disadvantages and limitations of teamwork, features of an effective team.
2. Planning tasks and managing team time.
3. Principles of team work and roles in the team.
4. Methods of effective motivation of team members.
5 Managerial and leadership skills.
Forms of conducting classes:
The course programme will be implemented in an interactive e-learning formula based on conversations, analysis of case studies and individual and group practical exercises aimed at improving soft skills, including online negotiation workshops based on prepared scenarios of teamwork. Classes will be held through the Moodle platform and through live meetings by Zoom.

Knowledge:
As a result of the learning process, the student:
- Is able to define and characterize a team,
- Knows the roles in the team,
- Understands the pros and cons of teamwork,
- Knows the usage of tools for planning tasks and team working time,
- Understands the rules of selection of team members,
- Knows what the management styles are
- Knows different concepts of motivation,
- Understands the principles of team leadership.
Skills:
Upon completion of the course, the student:
- Can create objectives and tasks for teamwork,
- Is able to identify the necessary roles in the team,
- Has the ability to create and implement simple teamwork plans,
- Is able to manage the work of the team in a basic way,
- Is able to select motivational tools in the process of team management.
Social Skills:
At the end of the course student:
- Understands the social responsibility associated with managing a team,
- Can make self-esteem and improve their teamwork skills,
- Is able to identify priorities to achieve teamwork objectives,
- Can cooperate in a group as well as analyze the course of teamwork processes,
- Understands the idea of developing his teamwork skills throughout his life,
- Develops skills and can plan its further development in the area of teamwork.
Assessment criteria
Attendance during classes, evaluation of activity (participation in tasks performed during non-synchronous classes and live) and final written test
Points for participation in activities during the classes (50%) and the grade from the final test (50%).
