Computer-Based Accounting with EWKASQL 2400-ZEWW676
Class 1: Introduction. Overview of enterprise management software. Presentation of the different ERP modules and their applications: PolkaSQL, FK (Finance and Accounting), CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and BI (data warehouse - Reporting).
Class 2: Overview of ERP software - EwkaSQL - system to handle accounting, designed for service, production and trade companies. Registration of students as users of the system.
Class 3: Discussion of issues related to accounting, in conjunction with the ERP system. Introduction to basic types of documents and other data necessary for book keeping and accounting in the enterprise.
Class 4: Understanding of the issues related to the chart of accounts, budgeting, clearing
and payments.
Class 5: Registration in the system of trade and settlement documents. Discussion of documents related to trade within and outside the European Community.
Class 6: Introduction, attribution and posting of internal and external accounting documents.
Class 7: Collaboration with other programs, including the system PolkaSQL. Import and export of data.
Class 8: Issues related to the closing of accounting period and fiscal year.
Class 9: Overview and work with the module EwkaSQL-Excel.
Class 10: Overview of the reporting system. Working with the software: Generation of reports (settlements, balance sheet, trial balance, profit and loss account, cash flow statement, etc.).
Class 11 - 14: Working with Software: More practice.
Class 15: Final examination prepared by the teacher.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to use the software EwkaSQL to make the following operations pertaining to financial operations carried out in commercial enterprises (service, production and trade).:
- Accounting of business operations
- Evidence of funds
- Evidence of settlements
- Registry of equity
- Registry of materials and goods
- Cost accounting
- Review of financial results and closure.
- Conducting Inventory checking
- Preparation of financial statements
The student has knowledge as to how the software EwkaSQL. The student has knowledge of how to operate the various functions of the software.
1. The student has knowledge of what features are available in the software EwkaSQL.
2. The student knows and understands the accounting documents recorded by the system.
3. The student has knowledge of reports that can be generated via the system. These reports can be used by internal stakeholders to manage the company and by the authorities and external bodies (reconciliation, balance sheet, documentation for the Internal Revenue, CSO, Social Security, etc.).
The student has the ability to account for an entire spectrum of business transactions of the company using the system. The student is able to create a standard chart of accounts and use them in accounting entries.
1. Student is able to:
- register and modify domestic and foreign contractors, those within EU and outside EU,
- record and modify any accounting documents relevant to the Accounting Act,
- register and modify settlement documents,
- register and modify operations on the chart of accounts.
2. The student is able to generate reports using the software EwkaSQL that the student knows how to analyze looking for relevant information.
The student is aware of an important role played by financial software in an overall enterprise management.
1. The student is aware of the advantages and disadvantages of the system EwkaSQL.
2. The student is able to work in companies who use the system EwkaSQL and using it, is able to maintain corporate accounting system.
3. The student is able to work in the accounting office, which uses software EwkaSQL and using it, is able to maintain corporate accounting system.
During the course the students will learn the principles of operation of the ERP System EWKASQL. Students will become familiar with taxes and charges that occur in companies. and will be able to make various declarations to Tax Office. Students will also learn to cope with charging interest for late payments, overpayments of taxes. The students will be introduced to the program EwkaSQL chart of accounts, databases of contractors, the balance sheet, profit and loss account as well as statement of cash flows. Students will arrange and record the opening balance and closing the accounting period, properly classify the individual costs to specific accounts, correctly indicate the income or loss for the company.

Assessment criteria
Mandatory participation in class, only one one unexcused absence is allowed. Active participation in class means the implementation of each practice exercise prepared by the teacher, which will be sent to students at least 24 hours before the start of class by mail. In case of absence, the student is required within one week, to gain knowledge of the topic discussed in class on the day of absence by reading the appropriate chapter of the manual and making up missed exercises and show the results to the teacher at the beginning of next class. Moreover, to pass the course students are required to pass the final examination completed during the last class. Test will require students to complete on their own accounting operations in the system EwkaSQL. Passing threshold on the examination is 60%.
