Economic Problems of the Environmental Policy 2400-ZEWW073a
The main objective of this course is to survey an economic background, which should be present in the environmental policy, providing economic tools to support an appropriate political decision making process. The program starts with an explanation of basic economic terms, economic decision making tools, evaluation of economic projects, and economic valuation of environmental costs and benefits. The major part of the course is devoted to environmental policy instruments, first of all to market-oriented economic instruments. The presentation is focused on the level of the national policy and positive experiences of the most developed countries and Poland. Additional information concerns local and global environmental policy problems.
The course ends with a written exam which is a test with 20 questions requiering selection of one of five proposed answers.
