Relational Databases and SQL in Oracle 2400-SP-SQL-RBD
The goal of this course is to introduce the Oracle database and provide participants with practical knowledge of SQL and query construction. Participants will expand their knowledge of databases so that they are fully prepared to efficiently process data using SQL in real-world scenarios.
Course topics:
✓ Relational Databases and SQL
✓ Introduction to relational databases, the SQL language, DML and DDL statements, types of database objects, and data types in databases. Introduction to the SQL Developer program.
✓ Creating Basic Queries
Keywords, command syntax, use of column and table aliases, comparison and logical operators, grouping data.
✓ Modifying tables
Adding, deleting, and updating records in a database.
✓ Useful built-in functions
String, numeric, conversion, and date functions. Storing and processing dates and times in a database.
✓ Joining data from multiple tables
Methods for joining tables, types of joins, aggregate operators. Single-row, multi-row, and correlated subqueries.
✓ Data analysis
Multidimensional grouping. Analytical functions: classification and ranking functions.

Learning outcomes
Participants understand the concept of relational databases and master the basics of SQL to the extent that they can independently retrieve data from a database. They know how to create basic queries for Oracle databases, modify tables, and use built-in functions. As a result, they are able to work with Oracle databases and create queries in SQL. Participants also learned about the most useful functions and constructs used in Oracle databases, which are used, among other things, to join data from multiple tables, create subqueries, and analyze data. As a result, they are able to create complex SQL queries using logical conditions, group data using aggregate functions, and perform analyses using analytical functions.
Assessment criteria
An independent assessment task to be completed by the participant upon course completion. A minimum score of 50% is required to pass.
