✓ Creating Charts and Fields
Tableau terminology – Measure and Dimension, discrete and continuous fields, automatically generated fields, charts (histogram, heat map, tree map, bullet graph, combo chart, shared axis, scatter plot, cross tab, bar-in-bar chart, box plot), using titles, captions, tooltips, axis editing, use of labels.
✓ Performing Calculations
Manipulating text and date fields, creating Quick Table Calculations, Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, working with aggregation, logical expressions, totals and subtotals, table join calculations.
✓ Working with Maps
Navigation, custom territories, geographic search, modifying locations within Tableau, importing and managing custom geocoding, using custom backgrounds as maps, connecting to geographic data.
✓ Creating Interactive Dashboards
Building dashboards and stories, creating actions in dashboards, designing dashboards for different devices, applying best practices for dashboard design, publishing.
✓ Tableau Online
Working with Tableau Online Server, managing roles, server administration.

Learning outcomes
Participants are able to navigate Tableau with ease and build visualizations. They have learned not only how to create charts but also when to use them most effectively. They are familiar with best practices in data visualization and common mistakes to avoid. They have also received guidance on visualization techniques, such as applying appropriate color schemes and improving chart readability.
Participants have become data visualization experts in Tableau. They can import and join data, prepare it for analysis, build advanced visualizations, and share their reports. Through this course, they have gained knowledge of the latest trends in Business Intelligence and are able to create and share professional interactive business dashboards accessible online to thousands of users.
Assessment criteria
A final individual project completed by the participant at the end of the course.
