The seminar programme lasts two semesters. The first semester is dedicated to an introduction to the methodology of dissertation writing, presentation of a general range of issues related to entrepreneurship (also in the context of intellectual property protection and business innovation), agreement with the participants on specific topics, objectives and a preliminary plan for each thesis, as well as possible bibliographic positions and data sources.
The second semester is dedicated to the preparation of the different parts of the thesis and the final revision of the text. In parallel, the progress of the thesis will be discussed in the group and individually.
At least twice (once per semester) during the seminar, the student is required to present the current progress of the thesis to his/her fellow students in order to discuss conclusions and problems.
The range of topics proposed for undergraduate theses can be related to the following areas
1. Business creation and survival.
2. Selected determinants of business activity.
3. Start-up as a specific form of business activity.
4. Issues of economic-financial analysis in an enterprise, including start-up activities and intellectual property rights, financing of start-ups.
5. Entrepreneurship and innovation
6. Economic aspects of the intellectual property protection (in particular industrial property, but also copyright) in enterprises.
7. Economic aspects of the intellectual property protection (in particular industrial property, but also copyright) for the economy.
8. Protection of intellectual property - selected legal aspects in Poland and the EU (economic context)
9. other (related) - by individual agreement
The use of selected methods of spatial analysis in chosen topics is welcome (suggested).
At the student's request, the seminar may be held in a hybrid (mixed) form: a part of the seminar at a distance (on-line), a part in the classroom.

KNOWLEDGE
1. The student knows the rules and principles of preparing and writing a thesis, knows how to formulate the aim of the thesis, research questions and/or hypotheses and choose an appropriate method of analysis.
2. The student knows how to prepare an appropriate literature survey and how to obtain and process empirical data (for the method appropriate to the prepared thesis).
3. The student has in-depth knowledge in the field of his/her chosen thesis topic.
4. The student is aware of the need to ensure the formal correctness of the thesis, including knowledge of the standards required for scientific work and understands the need to respect copyright.
SKILLS
1. The student will be able to write the thesis according to the known principles and rules.
2. The student will be able to meet the formal and content-related requirements of the bachelor thesis.
3. The student will be able to carry out a coherent and logical research argument (at the level required for a bachelor thesis) in accordance with the objectives and assumptions set.
4. The student will acquire the ability to apply the knowledge gained during the studies to solve problems related to the topics discussed in the prepared thesis.
SOCIAL COMPETENCES
1. The student is able to extend and improve the knowledge and skills acquired, particularly in the context of the chosen topic of the thesis, and is aware of the need to critically analyse the surrounding economic phenomena.
2. The student will be able to set appropriate priorities in the preparation and writing of the thesis.
3. The student is able to think and act independently, to seek his/her own scientific development and to understand the need for continuing professional development.
Assessment criteria
The final outcome of the participation in the seminar is the preparation of the bachelor thesis. The student's progress in the preparation of the thesis (including, in particular, the achievement of the intended objectives of the thesis) will be assessed and the student will be required to present it (in the form of a paper/presentation/debate) at the seminar at least once per semester. After Semester I, the student should have a preliminary plan for the thesis, the aim of the thesis, the research questions and/or research hypotheses, the main literature and pre-selected data for the empirical part. In Semester II, he/she should present successive progress in writing the individual parts of the thesis. Credit for Semester II is possible upon submission of the thesis to the Dean's Office.
Bibliography
Literature will be selected individually according to the student's bachelor thesis topics.
