The seminar will cover topics essential for the proper preparation of bachelor's theses. The substantive topics of the seminar will focus on the following areas:
Business models in the circular economy:
- The essence and assumptions of the circular economy,
- Transition from linear to circular models in enterprises
- Business models based on reuse, repair, and recycling
- Life cycle assessment (LCA) of product value
- Examples of circular model implementations
Management and financing of economic projects in the context of the circular economy:
- Sources of financing for circular projects
- Indicators and tools for assessing the effectiveness of circular models
- Policies and regulations supporting the circular economy
- Change management in organizations implementing circular business models
- Environmental reporting (ESG)
- Energy management

Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student knows and understands the essence of the circular economy and the specificity of business models applied in this area. The student is familiar with the key conditions for implementing circularity in enterprises and basic analytical tools (e.g. LCA). The student knows how to formulate research questions and conduct research for the purposes of a diploma thesis in the field of the circular economy. They understand the rules of working with professional literature and empirical material. The student knows the formal requirements related to the preparation of a diploma thesis.
Skills
The student is able to critically review the literature and evaluate different authors' positions on the circular economy. They can analyze sources and work with selected empirical material. The student is able to formulate research questions suited to the subject matter of the seminar and explain the problems posed. They are able to synthesize the results obtained and independently draw appropriate conclusions.
Competences
The student is able to inspire and organize the learning process in a group at the stage of preparing a diploma thesis on the circular economy. They can set priorities related to achieving the seminar's aims. The student is able to independently, critically, and responsibly complement their knowledge and develop skills related to the chosen subject matter.

Assessment criteria
The seminar is passed based on a submitted and accepted bachelor's thesis. Extension of the thesis submission deadline is permitted in accordance with the study regulations. Students present the results of their work in the form of a presentation.
