Student has an advanced knowledge of basic problems when analyzing data.
SKILLS
Student has the ability to select statistical model and estimation method to the analyzed problem and data set. Student can use econometric methods to read from data quantitative and qualitative relationships between variables, verify theoretical hypotheses and to formulate predictions.
-Student is able to collect world literature on the topic indicated
-Student knows how to critically analyze the literature and draw conclusions
-Student can plan his own study, formulate questions and research hypotheses, select appropriate research method (based on the literature)
-Student can perform a quantitative study
-Student knows how to present the results of his research in a thesis, draw conclusions and comment on them in the light of world literature
SOCIAL SKILLS
The student is aware of the need for verification of economic theory with empirical data. At the same time student knows the limitations of models used in empirical analysis. Student is able to plan and execute empirical research.
-Student understands that economic theories are controversial and that it is necessary to confront them with empirical data. He can imagine, whether or not the economic hypothesis can be subjected to empirical verification.
-Is aware that quantitative methods have limitations due to the imperfections of the data sets. Student understands that the methods of quantitative research in economics are still developing.
-Demonstrates willingness to supplement their own knowledge based on a sophisticated literature on a specific topic.

Assessment criteria
Assessment: bachelor thesis and presentations (one in each semester).
Bibliography
Readings will be chosen in accordance with students research interests.
