8. Sources of information and analytical tools necessary for preparing forecasts

10. Case studies of company valuation using the discounted cash flow (DCF) method
11. Case studies of company valuation using the market multiples method of comparable listed companies.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be aware of the importance of concepts such as: capital group, consolidated financial statements, enterprise value, free cash flow, market multiples. They will be familiar with issues related to recognition and measurement in consolidated reporting. They will know methods of consolidation and valuation of enterprises.
Students are able to analyse the financial situation of a capital group and apply enterprise valuation methods in practice.
The student is able to expand their acquired knowledge and practical skills to the extent necessary to perform their professional work. With their broad knowledge of accounting and financial issues, the student should think and act in accordance with ethical principles.
Assessment criteria
Attendance is compulsory. Assessment is based on a written assignment at the end of the semester, consisting of tasks and multiple-choice test questions (70% of the final grade, pass mark 50%) and a presentation of a company valuation in a team of two (30% of the final grade).
The test questions concern the provisions of the Accounting Act, valuation principles, and the presentation of the effects of economic operations in financial statements (balance sheet and profit and loss account). The exam tasks concern the analysis and preparation of the balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow, valuation using the DCF method and market multiples method. The final grade is the sum of 30% of the activity grade and 70% of the exam grade (single-choice test and tasks).
