The topics vary from year to year depending on students’ interests and cover a variety of different issues related to the contemporary world economy. Topics that are most frequently chosen by the students include economic growth in the open economy and its determinants, multinational enterprise and foreign direct investment, the pattern of international trade, the exchange rate determination, international factor mobility and aid to developing countries.

The main emphasis of the seminar will be put on developing practical research and writing skills. The seminar will help students in preparing a high-quality BA dissertation related to the world economy issues.
Assessment criteria
Students need to prepare an extended research proposal that includes the literature review in the fall semester and the first draft of the dissertation in the spring semester.The grade in the fall semester will be based on the quality of the research proposal and the grade in the spring semester will be based on the quality of the first draft.
