Introduction to psychology 2300-NS1-WP
The main aim of the course is to introduce rudiments of knowledge relating to individual determinants of man acting and psychical regulation of behaviour.
The course includes the following 5 blocks:
Psychology as a science: its subject, methods and language; psychological conceptions of a human.
Learning and memory: classical and operant conditioning, cognitive schools of learning, social learning. Information-processing model of memory - the processes of encoding, storage and retrieval, hypothetical structures of memory model.
Sensory and cognitive processes: attention, perception, thinking and problem solving; their role in orientation's attain and understanding of the world, ourselves and the others.
Emotion, motivation: setting the course for behaviour. Stress (what causes stress, reacting to stress, how do we cope with it).
Individual differences - intelligence, temperament and personality; review of theories, nature or nurture - genesis of individual differences.
