Module New trends in culture 2300-NPK
The aim of the module is a pedagogical reflection on contemporary culture and its impact on the variability of forms, contents and models of education in the field of art and culture. The basic module content focuses on the following issues: basic concepts and theories of cultural knowledge; the concept, goals, tasks and functions of culture; anthropological approach to culture; cultural pedagogy and cultural education; participation in culture and its conditions; the specificity of participation in culture of children and youth; contemporary controversies around cultural education: from the perspective of critical pedagogy and emancipatory pedagogy; cultural education and cultural education; free time culture; the specificity of cultural practices of childhood and adolescence, the role of play and toys in culture and education; intergenerational relations in various types of cultures; the specificity of youth culture; theory of aesthetic education - basic concepts, assumptions, sources, inspirations; interdisciplinarity and multi-disciplinarity of the theory of aesthetic education; educational aspects of art throughout history; popular culture - concept, characteristics, functions of popular culture, aesthetics of popular culture, media and pop culture, education in the era of pop culture, popular culture as an area of educational activities; analysis of selected texts of popular culture with regard to their educational aspects; alternative culture - concept, characteristics, functions of alternative culture, alternative cultural subworlds, alternative in the virtual world, alternative culture and alternative education, analysis of selected texts of alternative culture with regard to their educational aspects; contemporary art - art with community, participatory art, dialogical art, relational art, art in public space, educational turn in contemporary art, pedagogical inspirations in contemporary art, reflection on the relationship art - education - animation.

In terms of knowledge, the student knows and understands:
1. contemporary and historical pedagogical theories and concepts concerning cultural, alternative and cultural animation education, and their philosophical and axiological foundations (K1_W01)
2. the importance of cultural, alternative and socio-cultural education in pedagogy and other social sciences (K1_W02)
3. assumptions of intercultural, inclusive education and ways of supporting cultural participants with diverse needs (K1_W08)
In terms of skills, the student is able to:
1. analyze theories and concepts concerning cultural, alternative and cultural animation education and relate them to educational practice (K1_U01)
2. recognize social and cultural changes and, on their basis, propose new forms of educational activities in the area of culture and art (K1_U03). 3. evaluate educational and animation activities conducted in cultural and educational institutions and propose ways to improve them (K1_U04)
4. independently expand knowledge and develop skills in the field of cultural education and animation work using various sources, also in foreign languages and using technology (K1_U11)
In terms of social competences, the student:
1. critically evaluate their own knowledge of cultural and alternative education and continuously improve themselves in response to changing challenges of culture and education (K1_K01)
2. plan educational and animation activities using the knowledge of specialists from various fields of culture and art (K1_K02)
3. cooperate with people and institutions involved in culture and education and take on various roles in team activities. (K1_K03)
4. active participation in cultural and social life, with care for conscious and cultured communication (K1_K06)
5. working in a culturally and emotionally diverse environment, conducting conversations, mediating and creating a safe and open space for communication (K1_K07)
