Selected techniques of teaching English to children 2300-NJ-DWNJA-WT
The course serves to deepen knowledge and skills in teaching English to children. It assumes a focus on the following topics:
1. Storytelling: appropriate choice of stories (books, poems, rhymes), organisation of text and language, ways of working with stories and books, creating activities around stories.
2. Drama and puppets: using drama in teaching children.
3. Educational projects in English lessons: aims and types of projects, stages of project work, examples of projects in language lessons.
4. modern technologies in English lessons.
5. language games and activities.
6. The use of songs and films in teaching English to young children.

In terms of knowledge the student knows and understands:
- the different approaches and their objectives used in language teaching with special emphasis on children's language education (K_W08, K_W09, K_W10),
- the linguistic aims and possibilities of teaching language using these techniques (K_W08, K_W09).
In terms of skills the student is able to:
- plan activities and language lessons based on selected techniques (K_U09, K_U10, K_U12),
- prepare teaching materials needed to use these techniques (K_U09, K_U12),
- plan language assessment methods using these selected techniques (K_U15),
- plan language lessons using modern technologies (K_U09, K_U12).
In terms of social competence, the student is ready to:
- develop their knowledge and skills in English language didactics (K_K01, K_K04),
- develop their language skills (K_K01, K_K03),
- open up to new areas of knowledge and skills in language didactics (K_K01, K_K02, K_K06).

- Attendance and active participation in classes
- Preparing and carrying out mini-projects presenting selected techniques of working with children in English lessons
