MTP-MTP - Social Pedagogy - special reading class 2300-MTP-PS-L1

After completing the course, students:
Knowledge
- will have basic knowledge of social pedagogy as a pedagogical subdiscipline interested in the mutual relationship between human being and the environment,
- will be able to use basic conceptual categories of social pedagogy,
- will be able to characterize the most important determinants of educational processes and their changes over time,
Skills
- will be able to formulate oral statements during discussions;
- will be able to read and analyse scientific texts,
- will be able to write short academic assignments (analyse the topic, formulate the thesis and arguments, keep the appropriate work structure etc.).
Social competence
- will be able to work in a group and take different roles in it.

- presence and activity during classes (2 absences are allowed);
- a written assignment on one of the topics listed (to be chosen by a student); it should include: the thesis and arguments supporting it, footnotes and bibliography (Harvard style). The length of the work: about 1500 words.

Assessment criteria:
- compliance with formal requirements (number of words, font, margins, correct footnotes and bibliography in accordance with the required style),
- relevance of the content to the topic,
- relevance and ordering of arguments,
- cohesion (sentences and paragraphs interrelated) and the logic of the argument (logical arrangement of content, logical conclusions),
- using the relevant subject literature,
- assignment composition/structure: taking into account all elements of the structure (introduction, main body, conclusions) and their respective proportions,
- using appropriate socio-pedagogical terminology,
- language accuracy.
