Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
The students know various theoretical approaches and concepts of family support, possess knowledge about the systems of child and family support in various countries, know forms of support oriented towards children and families in a familial and institutional background, possess knowledge about the systems and instruments of protecting children against abuse
Know the organisation and operational principles of institutions working for the prevention of child abuse as well as programs and ethical standards followed in the institutions
Skills:
The students can:
-explore and update their knowledge about the forms of child protection and systemic solutions in this area
-compare various concepts and systems of child and family support, analyse the solutions proposed within various forms of support
-recognise threat to the child and point to adequate forms of preventing it,
-apply the knowledge about the systems of family and child support and the implementation of concrete programs for children and families.
Social competences:
The students can:
-perceive the complexity of the problem of child and family support
-communicate with other specialists, develop projects using various systemic solutions and various forms of helping and supporting the child,
-are aware of European policy for helping and supporting children and preventing their abuse,
-follow the ethical principles of working with the child and the family,
-self-evaluate their knowledge and skills and enhance them systematically
-are sensitive to the needs of children who are abused and in need of support.
