MS1 - Specialization Module 1, Key Competences 2300-MS1-TKM-KK
The aim of the module is to show students the issues of key competences. The student will learn how various and institutions (OECD; EU) recognize and define key competences. He will also acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to design the process of developing key competences.
Selected content of the module:
- The cultural and social context of key competences;
- the importance of key competences for individual educational and professional development;
- interpersonal communication in the trainer's work; (assertiveness, NVC, psychological territory);
- Leadership (concepts, styles of leadership in the work of the trainer, ethical aspects of leadership in the work of the trainer).

Knowledge:
The student knows and understands:
• what key competences are and can distinguish them from other strategic groups of skills and competences (life, future, key competences) (K_W01);
• the origins and the sociological, philosophical, and methodological theories underpinning them (K_W03);
• the significance of key competences for the development of individuals and societies (K_W09);
• methods and forms of work focused on supporting the development of key competences in adults (K_W07);
• the functioning of institutions supporting the development of key competences and the interrelations between them (K_W10);
• the ethical principles of working as a trainer, advisor, or in other forms of educational and social support (K_W12).
Skills:
The student is able to:
• use knowledge from various sources to observe, identify, and analyse educational difficulties and problems among different social groups (K_U01);
• refer to different definitions of key competences and critically analyse the differences between them, taking into account various theoretical perspectives (K_U08);
• conduct research on educational needs assessment or evaluation, both with individuals and selected social groups, appropriately choosing research techniques and methods (K_U03);
• diagnose educational problems and challenges of individuals and groups, developing substantive diagnoses and formulating specific recommendations (K_U04, K_U05);
• create a development plan for key competences tailored to individuals and various social groups, considering diverse life contexts (K_U02);
• use modern technologies and new media to design support methods and techniques (K_U06);
• communicate their opinions, positions, and judgments clearly and precisely, while respecting the views and opinions of others – including adversaries (K_U07);
• prepare various written forms of reports, taking into account the specific needs of recipients as well as the interests of different stakeholders (grant providers, stakeholders, etc.) (K_U09);
• work in project teams to achieve set educational and social goals (K_U10);
• apply knowledge about key competences in their own work as a trainer (K_U11).

Assessment criteria
Completion of all subjects within the module.
Project: development of a support model for the development of selected key competences.
The project will be evaluated based on its substantive content and the appropriateness of the program's alignment with the participants' issues.
