General pedagogical practice 2300-MNN-PO
The aim of the general pedagogical internship is to introduce students to the conscious and responsible performance of school pedagogue tasks through observation, analysis and independent actions undertaken in the school environment. The internship accompanies classes in the methodology of pedagogical activity and allows for the application of acquired theoretical knowledge in real educational situations.
As part of the internship, the student gets to know the legal and organizational documentation of the school, including the statute, educational and preventive program, regulations, pedagogical supervision plan, assessment system, principles of cooperation with parents and competences of the pedagogical council. The student gets to know the documentation of the teacher and school pedagogue, learns how to keep and use it (including the lesson journal, assessment sheets, material breakdowns, educational plan). The student observes the work of teachers, analyzes the style of their communication with students, assesses the difficulties encountered in educational work.
During the internship, the student prepares and carries out tasks assigned by the internship coordinator in the institution. An important element of the internship is developing communication skills, supporting students' cognitive development, motivating them to learn, identifying educational problems and cooperating with parents, teachers and specialists. The student also learns about the possibilities of supporting students with learning difficulties of a skill-related, motivational or regulatory nature - in the scope of activities that do not require specialist qualifications. The internship ends with the preparation of a portfolio and self-evaluation of knowledge and skills. The classes aim to develop pedagogical competences needed to fulfill the role of a school pedagogue in a dynamic and diverse educational environment.
