School Counseling 2300-MNN-MDP
The subject "Methodology of pedagogical activity" prepares students to undertake educational, diagnostic and developmental activities supporting students at various stages of education. Classes combine substantive, methodological and interpersonal preparation necessary for the work of a school pedagogue and other specialists working in educational institutions. Both the legal and organizational foundations of the pedagogue's functioning in school and practical aspects of his activity are discussed.
The program addresses issues related to the diagnosis of educational difficulties of students (of a skillful, motivational and regulatory nature), conducting educational activities, supporting motivation to learn and developing social competences of children and youth. Classes also include work with students with special educational needs and the principles of organizing support teams. Particular emphasis is placed on developing the ability to conduct pedagogical activities in conditions of real social interaction, cooperation with parents, teachers and specialists (e.g. psychologist, speech therapist).
The documentation of the pedagogue's work, his tasks in the system of psychological and pedagogical assistance and good practices in modern educational didactics will be discussed. An important element of the classes is reflection on the professional identity of a pedagogue and developing competences to independently plan one's professional development path. The subject is closely linked to general pedagogical practice and practice in kindergarten. The condition for passing is attendance at classes (two absences allowed) and settlement of practice documentation.
