(in Polish) Digital Storytelling in Teaching English to Young Learners 2300-KJO-DSTE
In this course, students will explore both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of digital storytelling in teaching English to children. The class will include an analysis of the educational, linguistic and technological aspects related to digital storytelling. Participants will be introduced to various digital storytelling tools and will learn how to use them effectively in lessons with the youngest learners. Students will also have the opportunity to create their own digital stories tailored to the particular age group of students.

Knowledge: the student can:
-understands basic pedagogical and psychological foundations of working with children in the context of foreign language learning (K_W08),
-understands the role of storytelling in children’s language acquisition (K_W12),
-is familiar with various digital tools that support the creation of educational stories (K_W04).
Skills: the student is able to:
design a digital story tailored to children’s age and language proficiency level (K_U09, K_U10),
use selected digital tools to create didactic materials (K_U12),
integrate digital narratives with teaching goals in EFL instruction (K_U16).
Social skills: the student:
is able to collaborate with others on an educational project (K_K04, K_K05),
is aware of the importance of creativity, empathy, and cultural sensitivity when working with children (K_K03, K_K07, K_K08),
uses technology responsibly in educational settings for young learners (K_K01, K_K04, K_K08),
conducting interactions in English (K_K01, K_K02)
Assessment criteria
To pass the class you must:
- actively participate in the class,
- prepare and present the work assigned by the instructor,
- prepare and present an original digital story.
Two absences are possible.
