Duration: 60 hours, carried out in the second year of studies (first and second semesters)
Objective of the Practice:
The objective of the assistant practice is to familiarize students with the specifics of working in a kindergarten, school, or other educational institution where they undertake the practice. In particular, students aim to understand caregiving and educational tasks, work organization, and the scope of tasks for educational staff and participants in educational processes. The practice also includes familiarization with the types of documentation kept in the institution.
Practice Location:
The practice takes place in both general education classes and special needs classes.
Content Scope of the Module:
The module focuses mainly on the functioning of educational institutions and the role of the supporting teacher and special educator in creating effective education and upbringing for students, including those with special educational needs.
Students' Tasks:
During their time in educational institutions, students are tasked with:
Understanding the specifics of working in kindergartens and schools.
Engaging in pedagogical reflection through practical observation of phenomena known from the literature.
Diagnosing student needs and learning strategies for working with children.
Analyzing and interpreting educational situations and compiling reports of their observations.
Practice Structure:
The module is carried out in the second year of studies, over two semesters. In each semester, students complete 30 hours of practice, totaling 60 hours.
Hour Division of Practice:
Practice in kindergarten (general/special) – 30 hours
Practice in school (general/special) – 30 hours
The assistant practice aims to prepare students for work in the field of education, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to support students, including those with special educational needs.
