The aim of the course is to familiarize students with legal regulations concerning the education of children and students with special educational needs and the principles of decision-making in this area. Students will learn about the organization of psychological and pedagogical support, classification and assessment of students with SEN, as well as the specifics of care, educational, rehabilitation, resocialization, and social therapy work. Particular emphasis will be placed on support methods and forms, as well as the functioning of specialist institutions. The course also includes an analysis of the system of educational and vocational counseling, health care, and sexual and health education. Students will understand the situation of families of students with SEN, their adaptation problems, life conditions, and available forms of social support. An important aspect will also be learning the methods of supporting families of children and students with SEN at various stages of their lives and building effective collaboration between families and specialists.

Assessment criteria
Attendance and active participation in classes, knowledge of assigned readings, a quiz (options: open questions, closed questions, oral answer); the passing threshold is 60%.
