Languages practice in kindergarten and school 2300-J-PR-A-JPP
Language practice in kindergarten and school consists primarily of observation, reflection and analysis of what the students have had the opportunity to experience during lessons. Students are expected to conduct an initial interview with the English teacher, participate in lessons, prepare a lesson plan/exercise plan, carry out a lesson or specific exercises on their own, observe the teaching aids used, analyse the textbook used in class.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the internship, the student/student:
In terms of knowledge:
- knows and is able to use a foreign language proficiently in English lessons (K_W05, K_W07).
- knows the methods and techniques used in teaching English to children (K_W03, K_W04),
- recognizes the methods and techniques used by the English language teacher (K_W03, K_W04, K_W05),
- knows a variety of teaching materials and how to use them adapting them to students' needs (K_W02).
In terms of skills / can:
- reflectively observe lessons taught by a teacher of English (K_U03),
- plan and describe an exercise / whole lesson (K_U01, K_U02),
- create teaching aids (K_U02, K_U06),
- use various teaching aids in their teaching (K_U02, K_U03),
- apply the knowledge gained in class when working with children in English lessons (K_U01, K_U02, K_U04),
- have a reflection on their own pedagogical activity (K_U03, K_U04),
- teaching materials used in the group/classroom and adapt them to the needs of children (K_U02, K_U04).
In terms of social competence / demonstrates a willingness to:
- reflect on both the lessons they observe and teach (K_K02, K_K06),
- give advice to his/her colleagues (K_K04, K_K06),
- appreciate the importance of self-reflection and feedback in their daily work as a teacher (K_K01, K_K02, K_K07),
- create lesson plans on their own (K_K01, K_K08),
- use and adapt teaching methods and techniques to different educational contexts and students' needs (K_K04, K_K07).
Assessment criteria
In order to pass the internship, students are required to provide the required set of documents:
- reflections from observed lessons
- lesson plans/description of exercises
- general reflection on the placement
- self-evaluation
- reflections on the lessons/ exercises carried out
- description of the teaching aid prepared
- analysis of the textbook
- evaluation from the teacher (internship supervisor)
