By the end of the course students will:
understand what specific topics should be discussed within the portfolio areas
know how to use the concept of portfolio in their professional development
know how to cooperate with other teachers in order to enhance their professional
development
understand how important it is to observe others and be observed while teaching
know how to draw conclusions from these observations
know techniques which foster self-reflection
Skills
By the end of the course students will be able to:
identify their strengths
use their own resources in order to become a better teacher
identify which areas of their professional activity are still demanding for them
prepare an action plan in order to minimalize their limitations
cooperate with other teachers in order to improve their teaching skills
assess their own actions undertaken in a classroom and correct them if necessary
Methods and assessment criteria:
1. Active participation
2. Individual meeting with the instructor in order to discuss a student’s portfolio
3. One absence allowed
