Policy for Older People 2300-F-MG-PS
During the classes, students get to know;
1. theoretical aspects of social policy, including criteria determining the interpretation of the term senior, old man, silver economy, doctrines and models of social policy, especially in the part that defines senioral politics, instruments and entities of the senior policy,
2. mechanisms of diagnosing and evaluation in social policy;
3. selected problems and specific solutions that are the subject of senior policy in contemporary Poland, including changes in old age patterns, family policy, education after 60 years of age , health and housing issues, social work problems, discrimination and equality,
3. contemporary challenges and directions of social policy development, especially in the part concerning, among others counteracting social exclusion, marginalization and exclusion, controversy over the social function of the state towards seniors, the European model of successful aging in health

Student:
1. knows phenomena that prevent successful aging, such as discrimination of older people due to age, exclusion from professional, social and political activity
2. has a structured and in-depth knowledge of institutions and organizations working for the benefit of seniors
3. has a structured, in-depth knowledge of various social policy models and understands the factors determining the quality of the process of supporting people recognized in a given model as older people
4. has extended knowledge about contemporary institutions in which senior policy can be implemented
Skills
Student:
1. is able to search and process information from various sources about the forms and methods of support for seniors
2. independently proposes solutions to specific problems related to senioral problems
3. can independently form opinions, analyze the reasons and course of participation of seniors in a given model of senior policy
4. is able to use theoretical knowledge to analyze the causes and course of implementation processes of the senior policy in a given model
5. has the ability to prepare reviews of a specific educational project, placing it in an adequate model of senior policy
Social competence:
Student
1. is able to identify the social consequences of the lack of appropriate solutions in the field of institutional forms of support for seniors and to inform about them various social gremia
2. can inspire and organize the process of seniors' activity, taking into account the specificity of proper activity for elderly people of different ages
3. can identify solutions to problems that arise in working with older people in a given policy model
Assessment criteria
Presentation on project evaluation (according to the model given by the teacher) of the supporting project indicated each year by the leading group of seniors. The project will be prepared by a team of up to 3 people selected by the team leader. The project can also be prepared on its own.
The evaluation is subject to:
1. Adequacy of the project to the assumed assumptions -1/3 of the assessment
2. Completeness of the project - 1/3 of the grade
3. Relevance of the indication in which theoretical model of adult education can describe the solutions adopted in the project - 1/3 of the assessment
