Research project in socio-cultural animation 2300-EAL-MM-PB
A research project in socio-cultural animation is a mandatory course that concludes the methodology module.
During classes, students work in teams of several people. They apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the module to prepare a collaborative research project.
Work on the project includes the following stages:
- Formulating the research problem.
- Developing a plan using methods appropriate for the field of animation research.
- Conducting fieldwork.
- Analyzing and critically analyzing the results.
- Writing a report on the research.
- Preparing a presentation of the results in a specified format.
- Presenting the results to an audience
This course serves as direct preparation for the module exam. The exam involves presenting the completed research project, its results, and conclusions in a specified format and during a specified event (conference/seminar).

- Knows the theoretical assumptions of socio-cultural animation and alternative education, which form the basis for correctly formulating the research problem and embedding the project in current pedagogical discourse (K1_W01)
- Knows the principles of planning and implementing research procedures appropriate for animation activities, including the specific selection of methods (such as action research) and techniques for analyzing and critically interpreting the collected results (K1_W03)
In terms of skills (the student is able to):
- Is able to design and conduct a simple applied study (diagnosis, evaluation, or action research) in a selected area of socio-cultural animation, and then develop and present its results using information and communication technologies (K1_U06)
In terms of social competences (the student is ready to):
- Is ready to critically evaluate the results of their own research and reflect on the level of their own methodological knowledge in the context of dynamic changes occurring in pedagogy and the field of social animation (K1_K01)
- Undertakes research activities in accordance with the principles of professional ethics, ensuring ethical contact with research participants, respecting different views in the project team and responsibly assuming the role of a researcher-animator (K1_K05)
Assessment criteria
To pass the course, a team of students must prepare a research project, complete it, present the results, and critically analyze it. Assessment is based on:
- teamwork (division of tasks and their completion)
- timely completion of tasks
- research plan and its implementation
- final presentation of research results
