Investigative and Evidentiary Tactics 2200-1PS046
This seminar-based, practice-oriented course focuses on methods for conducting preparatory proceedings, including the organization of investigations, the development and verification of investigative hypotheses, the assessment of evidentiary material, and common investigative errors (cognitive, institutional, and technical). Participants will learn how to evaluate the evidentiary value of various materials, develop strategies for evidence analysis, and apply their knowledge of investigative and procedural tactics. Selected case studies will be examined throughout the course, including expert witness reports and other types of evidence. Particular emphasis is placed on the scientific validity of methods used in investigative practice.
A good command of English is required, as the course involves reading academic texts, participating in discussions, and analyzing case studies in English.
