Bachelor's Seminar 2105-PP-L-D6SEMI
During the course, students acquire detailed knowledge about the subject of their bachelor's thesis and learn about the latest literature on the subject. The aim of the course is for students to write their bachelor's thesis independently. Students formulate the research objective of their thesis, identify research problems and questions, and select the appropriate research methods and techniques necessary to complete the topic, which they can apply in their own research. The aim of the course is for students to conduct their own research, then correctly interpret the results and draw conclusions. During the course, students master the skill of writing academic texts.

Learning outcomes
The student knows and understands the nature of social sciences and their place in the system of sciences, especially the relationships between the sub-disciplines that make up European studies. They are able to use social science methodology when writing their bachelor's thesis. (K_W01)
The student is able to
- prepare a written thesis in Polish/English on political, social, cultural and economic issues of Europe and the European Union, using basic concepts and theoretical approaches as well as diverse sources of information relevant to European studies. (K_U09)
- prepare an individual oral presentation in Polish/English related to the written bachelor's thesis on political, social, cultural and economic issues of Europe and the European Union, using basic concepts and theoretical approaches as well as various sources of information relevant to European studies. (K_U10)
Assessment criteria
Class attendance. Discussion of research issues raised in the bachelor's thesis. Completion of tasks assigned by the supervisor. Submission of subsequent parts of the thesis for consultation and review.
Completion of the bachelor's thesis.
The thesis is prepared in accordance with the guidelines set out in
Resolution No. 4 of the University Council for Education of the University of Warsaw of 27 February 2020 and the rules for awarding degrees specified by the Teaching Council of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies on 19 July 2020 (RESOLUTION NO. 34/2020 with appendix) for the field of European Studies - European Integration.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the preparation of a thesis, the rules set out in Resolution No. 98 of the University Council for Education of the University of Warsaw of 8 December 2023 on guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence tools in the education process and in Resolution No. 29/2025 of the Teaching Council of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies (11/2025) of 7 May 2025 on detailed rules for the use of artificial intelligence tools in the education process.
The student confirms the scope of use of AI tools by submitting a statement in accordance with the applicable template.
