The subject matter of the subject focuses on the following issues:
1) World economy - evolution, transformations in the structure and system of production, entities and their importance
2) The main theories of international exchange - classical, neoclassical, contemporary
3) The main areas of international exchange - the movement of services, capital, technical knowledge and labor
4) Exchange rates and currency policy
5) Issues related to the functioning of the European economic and monetary union
6) The international financial market - its segments and importance
7) Major international organizations in MSG and their role
8) Foreign trade policy
9) WTO- genesis, role, negotiation rounds
10) Regional processes of economic integration and their importance for the world economy

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
Knowledge: the student knows and understands
- the nature of social sciences and their place in the system of sciences, and in particular the relations between the sub-disciplines that are part of European studies, i.e. administration, law, economics, political sciences and public policy sciences, focused on practical application in the sphere of administrative and official activity and entrepreneurship. - the evolution of the state, its structure and role in contemporary processes of integration and globalization (K_W02)
- forms and planes of the presence of the European Union in international political and economic relations (K_W04).
Skills: the student can
- observe, interpret, analyze and describe social processes and phenomena, including relationships between phenomena and processes of the political, administrative and socio-economic sphere in Europe and within European countries (K_U01)
- analyze solutions to specific social, political and economic problems and propose effective and ethical ways to solve these problems. (K_U07)
Competences: student is ready to
- recognizing the importance of knowledge and enriching professional experience throughout life. (K_K01)
